We had a great time!
We just returned from North Myrtle Beach and stayed at Towers on the Grove and had a great time.
I reserved the room (3 bedroom, corner unit) back in the spring, before Wyndham took over, so I was a bit nervous after reading some of these reviews. I called and checked on our reservation before we left home and all was fine. We arrived on Saturday, July 17, around 4 in the afternoon, and the line waiting for the elevators was very long (people trying to check in and those going back to their rooms from the beach/pool), so we found the stairs and went up to the third floor lobby. We had to wait about 10 mintues to check in and the man at the desk was very nice. We were sent to a woman at the end of the counter to get our parking passes, and, yes, she did invite us to a reception to "learn more about the property," which we declined, and she gave us our parking passes and that was that. The only other contact we had from the timeshare people the whole week was another invitation left on our doorknob one morning, which we threw away. No problem. The man who checked us in did tell us that there was no maid service, which was fine with us....I prefer not having anyone coming in to clean. Towels were provided and he asked us to please make use of the washer/dryer in our unit to clean those as needed.....again, no problem. Soap, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, etc., were also provided in the unit and we were told to let them know if we needed anything more. The unit was very nice and we had plenty of room for six adults. After the first day, the elevators were never a problem again...they came quickly when you pushed the buttons. The pool area was nice, but crowded, but I prefer to be on the beach anyway. The kids' area looked like a lot of fun...there's a water slide and play area. We also rented an umbrella and chairs for the week and never had a problem with that. The beach is fairly crowded there, but it's a 20 story building, so that wasn't a surprise. There's a gravel lot beside the building where you can park for a short time and unload everything when you arrive and then you park across the street in the parking deck. It's a just a short walk across the street and there's an elevator for the parking deck. We were happy with our stay there....it's a nice place.
